Process for selecting the RPF in 2024

Constables and Sub Inspectors of the Central Reserve Police Force are selected through three stages: CBT, PET and PST. Check out the following details for more information.

A computer-based test (CBT) consists of:

• General Awareness, Arithmetic, General Intelligence, Reasoning

• 120 questions in total

• A maximum of 120 marks is allowed

• 90 minutes in length

• Questions of the multiple choice type

• For each incorrect answer, 13 marks are deducted.

The Physical Efficiency Test (PET) consists of the following steps:

• The constable:

  • Run 1600 metres:

    • Male: 5 minutes and 45 seconds

  • Run 800 meters:

    • Female: 3 minutes, 40 seconds

  • Jumping long:

    • A male is 14 feet tall

    • A female is 9 feet tall

  • Jumping high:

    • A male is 4 feet tall

    • A female is 3 feet tall

• The Sub-Inspector is:

  • Run 1600 meters:

    • Male: 6 minutes, 30 seconds

  • Run 800 meters:

    • Female: 4 minutes

  • Jumping long:

    • A male is 12 feet tall

    • A female is 9 feet tall

  • Jumping high:

    • The height of a male is 3 feet 9 inches

    • A female is 3 feet tall

PMT (Physical Measurement Test):

• Sub-Inspector & Constable:

• The height is:

  • 165 cm for UR/OBC

  • 160 cm for SC/ST

  • 163 cm for specified categories

  • Male chest (only):

    • The minimum expansion for UR/OBC is 80 cm (with a minimum expansion of 85 cm).

    • A minimum expansion of 81.2 cm is required for SC/ST: 76.2 cm
